Natural Stomach Care - Good Benefits of Yogurt
66
Consuming yogurt is one of the cheapest and easiest ways to care for your stomach naturally. According to the Dr. Anil Minocha writing in his book Natural Stomach Care he says "Composed of coutless numbers of living bio-organisms (one cup of cultured yogurt contains literally billions of helpful bacili), once ingested these cultures make their way into the gastrointestinal tract. The yogurt "good" bacteria join with other micoflora in the gastrointestinal tract and do some very helpful things for your body. Here is a list of all the good things that one cup of yogurt does for you:
- Break down food and help digest it.
- Maintain a healthy level of bile salts in the digestive system (helps fight toxic flora in the gut).
- Slows growth of health threatening pathogens.
- Reduces chlolesteral.
- Suppresses tumor growth.
- Discourages harmful microrganisms inside the wall of the GI tract.
- Stimulates production of interferon, a group of proteins that increases the strength and activity of killer cells that form the core of human immune system.
- Generates a natural antibiotic affect that gets rid of unfriendly putrefactive bacteria living in the bowel. These bacteria clog the digestive system, produce toxic waste, and in many cases initiate disease.

Personal Experience and My Favorite Yogurt
I can tell you from personal experience that consuming yogurt really does work for problems with your digestion. I have had two instances in my life where I have had digestive problems both coming from bad bacteria in my digestive system. In each case consuming yogurt was part of my treatment. You will find that when your stomach is bothering you, yogurt is something that goes down very easily. For coping with digestive problems I also drink chamomile and ginger tea. I also take digestive enzymes. You can find these in a chewable form or capsule.
My favorite yogurt is Greek Yogurt. Greek Yogurt does not have the tangy taste of regular yogurt and it is much thicker and more creamy. Though it is relatively new to the market place you can find it in most grocery stores. Greek Yogurt also comes in flavors such as strawberry, blueberry and vanilla.

I also bought the book "Natural Stomach Care" by Dr. Minocha that you have mentioned/referenced in your article. It is by far the best book I have read on the topic and I don't say it lightly as I have gone through so many from online and from my local library. Thanks very much opening us to this treasure trove of information wealth in Natural Stomach care...
Also, amit, thanks for the added blurb in your comments. It makes lot of sense now

I used to make chicken curry with yogurt - must revisit that recipe.
Thank you very much!
thanks for the info :D
I've noticed in just the past couple of day that Greek yogurt is being advertised a lot on TV and in the manufacturers coupons in the newspaper. I love yogurt but haven't tried Greek style yet. I will.
II suffer from digestive problems?IBS for years often with severs dizziness and low energy. Natural yoghurt is one food that helps my condition thankfully.
I find that balkan style yogurt helps me with acid reflux, and also helps to settle my stomach. I had a UTI. The doctor prescribed some type of antibiotic that took away alot of the good bacteria from my stomach. It also may have damaged the lining of it. I find that the balkan yogurt does alot to balance the good and bad bacteria. I still have stomach problems but they are getting better. I believe the body tells you what you need. I never really looked for what may help. I just listened to what my body was saying to me.

- Natural Remedies for Acid Reflux
Acid Reflux Remedy Drugs that reduce stomach acid are among the most frequently prescribed drugs in the United States. Although these drugs can be effective at relieving symptoms like heartburn and abdominal pain, they may have serious long-term side effects. There are many herbal remedies for acid reflux such as chamomile, meadowsweet, slippery elm, cancer bush, fennel, catnip, angelica root, gentian root, ginger root and other herbs, including aloe and chlorophyll. But many natural cure blogs say that the key to curing acid reflux naturally is in what are called “lifestyle changes.” Here are some suggested lifestyle changes you can make: Stop smoking – Smoking relaxes the sphincter muscles that normally prevent stomach acid from reaching the esophagus. It also dries out saliva in the mouth and throat, which normally would neutralize some of the stomach acid and begin the digestive process. Studies have found that smoking increases the risk of developing acid reflux disease, so if you don’t have it already and you smoke, you are much more likely to develop acid reflux. Reduce or eliminate alcohol consumption – Alcohol increases stomach acid. Alcohol also relaxes the lower esophageal sphincter, allowing the reflux of stomach contents into the esophagus. - Symptoms of Indigestion
Symptoms of Acid Indigestion Indigestion, also known as dyspepsia, is a term used to describe one or more symptoms including a feeling of fullness during a meal, uncomfortable fullness after a meal, and burning or pain in the upper abdomen. Other, less frequent symptoms that may occur with indigestion are nausea and bloating—an unpleasant tightness in the stomach. Nausea and bloating could be due to causes other than indigestion. Indigestion is common in adults and can occur once in a while or as often as every day. It is estimated that up to 41% of the population have experienced indigestion at some time. Indigestion can be caused by a condition in the digestive tract such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, cancer, or abnormality of the pancreas or bile ducts. People who suffer from anxiety, depression or emotional issues may have an increased rate of indigestion as well. Also, the use of drugs can irritate the body’s system and it can increase the indigestion symptoms. Certain types of antibiotics, aspirin and painkillers, thyroid medicines, estrogen and oral contraceptives and steroids have indigestion as a side effect. Sometimes a person has indigestion for which a cause cannot be found. [...] Related posts: Peppermint Tea and IBS Peppermint Tea Stomach I have always know what a great...
